Queen City Mechanicals was founded and incorporated in 1983 by a cooperative of three owners, including its original president, Mr. Gary Gilbert. The company successfully serviced the commercial plumbing needs of the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State area for seventeen years under this triad ownership arrangement.
In 2000, Mr. Gilbert acquired sole ownership of Queen City Mechanicals. This acquisition proved to be the commencement of a family business as his two sons, Bryan and Brad, were invited to accept entry level roles within the company. The family formula proved to be a success, as the business continued to thrive for another decade and a half, while diversifying into other areas of work including site utilities and commercial/residential plumbing service.
The succession plan, conceived in 2000, became a reality when Queen City Mechanicals was purchased on January 1, 2015 by Bryan Gilbert, as acting President, and Brad Gilbert, as Vice President. The company continues to grow and strives to be the area's premier, full service mechanical contracting firm.
Bryan is a 1998 graduate of the University of Cincinnati holding a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Bryan joined the family business in 1999 as an estimator/project manager. As he gained experience and knowledge of the industry, Bryan quickly became involved in the operational side of the business, focusing much of his effort on the vision of evolving QCM into a premier contracting firm. Bryan assumed the role of President in 2015, allowing him to lead the strategic vision of the company.
Brad joined the family business in 1998, starting as an apprentice plumber. He completed his education through the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee of Local Union #392. As a journeyman plumber, Brad quickly gained interest in underground plumbing installations and started focusing his efforts on establishing Queen City Mechanicals as a underground utility contractor. Brad currently leads the underground utility and hauling sectors of QCM.
