Job Summary

Queen City Mechanicals is a commercial/industrial plumbing and utility contractor, with nearly 40 years of industry experience operating within the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State Area. Our company is comprised of three (3) divisions; plumbing construction, plumbing service, and exterior underground utilities. We are actively seeking an experienced individual to manage the daily operations of the company and lead our team of professionals, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, quality craftsmanship and market growth. This position requires an individual with management experience and the proven ability to lead a diverse team of loyal members to perform to their highest potential, with consistent focus on Queen City Mechanicals’ core values and strategic vision.

  • Successfully oversee the day-to-day operations of the Company
  • Keep ownership team fully informed in a timely and candid manner of the conduct of the day-to-day operations of the Company towards the achievements of its established goals and of all material deviations from the goals
  • Executive oversight on all projects in collaboration with project team, with focus on contract compliance, quality assurance, safety and consistent measurement of financial performance through regular job costing reviews
  • Responsible for enacting Company’s operational systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s vision
  • Assist ownership team in overseeing the Company’s achievement and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within the industry
  • Collaboration with ownership team to develop Company’s short-term and long-term goals
  • Work with department managers to implement a plan to achieve ownership team’s goals
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between departments through communication with managers for successful job completion
  • Continuously conduct financial reviews to remain current on the state of the business
  • Growth and market expansion of each business unit
  • Development, preservation and improvement of the relationship with the customer
  • Prepare, review and pool resources with other members of the management team to review business development, upcoming marketing opportunities and strategies to increase productivity
  • Attend industry conferences, meetings and training seminars for continual personal growth and development of network
  • Ensure the development of health and safety practices for the Company and oversee compliance with those practices
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and service and encourages individual integrity
  • Maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining and motivating a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels
  • Support daily human resources activities and responsibilities
  • Manage hiring process including the composition of all job postings, conduct interviews with potential candidates and negotiate all compensation packages
  • Supervise, coach and mentor all employees
  • Prepare and conduct annual performance evaluations of salaried employees
  • Manage the annual review and selection of all employee benefits
  • Utilize a combination of leading-edge technology and pioneering processes to ensure the Company is an industry front runner

experience required

  • Proven work history associated with the operational management of a privately held business
  • Tenure within the construction industry, preferably with a mechanical focus
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Individual must be able to demonstrate that he/she possess the following skills:

                   o Proficient written and oral communication skills

                   o Strong organization skills and detail orientation

                   o Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports

                   o Ability to work with a team or independently as needed

                   o Ambition to accomplish current and long-term goals

                   o Excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

                   o Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment and job sites

                   o Forward and creative thinker
